NH ASCD is offering two exciting professional development opportunities in mathematics. On November 21 and 22, 2023, Dr. Peter Liljedahl will lead a two-part webinar series on Building Thinking Classrooms for grades K-12. He will present the results of over 15 years of research into how teachers can transform their classrooms from spaces where students mimic to spaces where students think. In this webinar, participants will explore how to move toward a thinking classroom, gain a conceptual understanding of thinking classrooms, and walk away with specific strategies that they can use. On March 22, 2024, NHASCD in partnership with NHTM will sponsor an on-site conference where attendees can choose from fifteen engaging breakout sessions. Joining us will be Dr. Steven Leinwand, Graham Fletcher, Kristen Hilty, Dr. Kevin Mahoney, and Karolyn Wurster. NHTM Announces a new membership structure: FREE Basic Membership! New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics (NHTM) is happy to welcome all who are interested in mathematics education to join our organization. We realize that membership fees can be a burden, so we are offering our basic membership for free. Members receive occasional updates about our professional development opportunities - Dine & Discuss, Book Studies, Conferences - and PD provided by others with an interest in mathematics education. The basic membership also includes membership in the New England affiliate, Association of Teachers of Mathematics in New England (ATMNE), with all of its privileges. PREMIUM Membership for Schools and Individuals! Principals may purchase a school premium membership which gives educational staff in their building--teachers, special educators, paraprofessionals, administrators, etc.--premium membership benefits (eligibility for awards and grants, discounts on NHTM events, and the option to post jobs). A school may purchase a premium membership for $25 to enroll up to 19 educational staff members or $50 for 20 or more members. Colleges and universities may include students in this bulk premium membership rate. Premium memberships run from September to August. Click here to register! Membership is FREE! |
