Duties and Responsibilities of New Hampshire Teachers of Mathematics: Media & Public Relations
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Ongoing

  • Attend four regularly scheduled board meetings throughout the school year, Spring conference and summer retreat

 

  • Publicize NHTM and ATMNE events with state media venues - informing public about Professional Development and social  events sponsored by Mathematics organizations (May be NHTM, ATMNE, NCTM , NCSM..)

 

  • Maintain Twitter accounts about NHTM activities, Facebook, NH's Google calendar, and other relevant social media venues to inform public of mathematics activities

 

  • Use NHMathEd List Serve to update members on future activities and PD opportunities connected with NHTM

 

  • Educate Board members on media venues

 

 Mathesis Articles

  • Review Mathesis information and coordinate and publicize appropriate mathematical news and activities 

 

Summer

  • Attend full day or day and a half summer Retreat for board members to discuss and plan activities for the coming school year 

 

September

  • Publicize Fall Professional Development activities via Twitter, Facebook, and other state wide media outlets
  • Promote On-line store materials

 

October/November

  •  Keep current about Fall PD activities - may include publicizing Regional Activities

 December

 

 

January

  • Send out Twitter reminders to membership to Vote for NHTM Board members

 

 February

  • Coordinate sending out notifications about NH State Mathematics Contest and MATHCOUNTS activities
  • Submit articles to newspapers, listserves, public announcement calendars (newspaper and web sites) about the Spring conference

 

 March

  • Submit articles to newspapers announcing the Prevost, Evans, and Balomenos Award winners  (after the announcements are made at the Spring Conference)
  • Submit articles related to newly elected board members.

 

April/May

  • Contact NEA-NH to coordinate fall professional development
